The area to be hunted will be dominated by the client's game requirements and planning will revolve around the species required. If a hunt were going to follow on from South Africa to Zimbabwe/Mozambique, charter or other flights would be additional.
SOUTH AFRICA
Northern Province/Limpopo Province: Kudu, Baboon, Blesbuck, Bluewildebeest, Limpopo Bushbuck, Bushpig, Com.duiker, Eland, Gemsbuck, Giraffe, Hyena, Impala, Jackal, Klipspringer, Common Reedbuck, Mnt.Reedbuck, Njala, Ostrich, Porcupine, Redhartbeest, Sharps Grysbuck, Steenbuck, Tsesebe, Waterbuck, Warthog, Zebra, Sable, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino & Leopard.

At Lucca African Safaris we support both rifle and bow-hunting. Hunting takes place in the prime hunting areas in South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Our qualified professional hunters will ensure the hunter the best opportunity to obtain the trophy animal. We find the best hunting areas both for trophy quality and adventure and offer it to potential hunters who like their African Safari tailor-made and custom built.
Rifles and Ammunition On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport your rifles will be inspected and you will be issued with an import permit for the duration of your stay. The laws governing international flights demand that rifles and ammunition must be transported in locked cases. Plains game hunts require calibers in the 30 class, etc. 338, 300, 30.06, 375 or 7mm with 60 70 rounds of ammunition. Recommended bullets are Barn's X, Swift A-frame or Trophy Bonded Bear Claw. Required calibers for big game is a minimum of 375 and larger, 40 rounds soft nose and 40 rounds solids are required
Bow hunting (compact, long and crossbow hunting) We support 3 methods of bow hunting: Blind hunting, still hunting and stalking. Hides and blinds have been specially constructed to ensure the hunter the best opportunity to obtain the trophy animal. We suggest that the hunter brings 2 well tuned bows with a draw weight not less than 50 lbs for the medium sized game and 70 lbs bow for the larger game. We found that well constructed Broad heads are essential for a successful hunt such as Thunderhead, Zwicky, Muzzy and Bear
Handling of trophies Your trophies will be marked, salted and field prepared prior to being sent to our taxidermist. Hunting can be arranged all year round although the months of April to October are regarded as the prime hunting period. Temperatures in this period range from 40F in the mornings up to 85F during the day.
Medical requirements Personal medication must be brought with on Safari. It is the responsibility of the client to inform Lucca African Safaris of his/her medical condition, allergies and preferences. Hunters are advised to take anti-malaria medication
Liability While ensuring all reasonable care and precautions for the safety of clients, Lucca African Safaris accepts no responsibility for any illness, accident, death or loss arising from any cause whatsoever nor any expense arising there from.
